In a blog post on the official CAO website, a post confirming CAO’s next cigar, Concert, appeared earlier this morning. It confirmed the somewhat already-known: it’s the second entirely new blend since General Cigar Co. took over operations of CAO and it will debut at IPCPR 2012.

The blog post reads:

I can’t believe that I’m sitting down to write about my second cigar for CAO…Believe it or not, I started to think about the blend for this cigar back in March of 2011. Ed and I knew back then that we wanted to honor CAO’s hometown in some way. So when we started to think about Nashville, we automatically thought of music…

I think the most genuine celebration of music is a concert. So when I started to think about which tobaccos to use in the blend for a cigar we were going to call Concert, I wanted to achieve the perfect harmony of flavor and body, just like when a singer is in harmony with the band. I hope that when you get to smoke the cigar, you’ll get what I set out to accomplish with the blend.

In less than two weeks, we’ll officially debut the cigar to retailers at the IPCPR show. The excitement for me is building, just like when you’re in an arena and the lights go down, and you can feel the electricity in room, and you’re itching for the curtain to rise so that your favorite band can start playing. I’m that excited about Concert.

Interestingly, the author is listed as “erin”—although no further details are given. The post does read “Ed (McKenna) and I” without mentioning Rick Rodriguez, the second half of the duo General Cigar Co. put in charge of the brand.
