CAO Brazilia Carnivale Nears Arrival at Retail

In late January we broke news of a new cigar coming from CAO, the Brazilia Carnivale, and while details were limited at that point, specifics about the cigar have recently been confirmed.

The CAO Brazilia Carnivale is a single vitola, 6 1/2 x 60 box pressed vitola that will be available exclusively to brick and mortar retailers. The Carnivale uses ligero tobaccos from three different countries to give the cigar a more powerful flavor profile than previous versions of the Brazilia line, which uses a Brazilian wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler.

2,500 boxes of 12 cigars are being produced in a one-time run, meaning that only 30,000 cigars are being made. MSRP is $8.30 per cigar or $99.60 per box. The box will also have a distinctive look, as shown in this mockup:

The CAO Brazilia Carnivale was recently made available to retailers for purchase and is slated to begin shipping as soon as orders are placed.

About the author

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for, plus I'm a voice over artist. I previously covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
