Blanco Cigar Co. will be unveiling a new line at the 2012 IPCPR convention and trade show that comes directly from the family’s own blends and preferences, as the Liga Exclusiva de Familia line features the personal blends of Cesar and David Blanco. Cesar’s blend uses a U.S. Connecticut shade seed grown in the Talanga Valley of Honduras, while David’s blend used a Pennsylvania Broadleaf Maduro from Lancaster County. Binder and filler on each are from Nicaragua, and both will be available in six sizes via 20-count boxes:
- Robusto – 5 x 54
- Toro – 6 x 54
- Salomon – 6 x 54
- Gran Toro – 6 1/4 x 60
- Torpedo – 6 1/2 x 54
- Double Corona – 7 x 54
Also on display will be an updated band of the NINE, which uses a Nicaraguan Oscuro Corojo wrapper from the Jalapa Valley that has been aged a minimum of three years. Underneath it lies three different ligero leaves from Nicaragua in the filler.
The company describes it as having notes of wood and cocoa on the unlit foot with earth, coffee and spices dominating the palate. It will be available in five sizes, all packaged in 20-count boxes:
- Double Corona – 7 x 52
- Lancero – 7 x 38
- Torpedo – 6 1/2 x 52
- Toro – 6 x 52
- Robusto – 5 x 52
Prices for the two lines were not made disclosed by the company at press time.
