News: Berger & Argenti Prepares V3-D & FATSO for IPCPR

Berger & Argenti will launch two new brands at IPCPR, V3-D and FATSO. V3-D expands on Berger & Argenti’s signature Entubar line, which in the past has featured a tip of ligero coming out of the foot of the cigar. The new line takes this concept to a new level. Rather than just ligero, V3-D features ligero, seco and viso.

Al Argenti described the blend earlier in the year to halfwheel:

Starting at the tip of the cigar foot, the first tier is Nicaraguan ligero (we’re experimenting with interlaced ligero tobaccos from Jalapa, Esteli and Jinotega).  The second tier is comprised of Nicaraguan viso tobaccos encased in a cigar wrapper (the photo showed this wrapper to be Nicaraguan Habano).  The final tier is Nicaraguan seco tobaccos surrounding ANOTHER type of cigar wrapper (photo shows this tier to be encased in a U.S. Connecticut grade 1 wrapper).

Berger & Argenti will launch V3-D in two sizes Tres Hombres (5 1/2 x 64) and Tres Leches (6 1/2 x 64). The line is described as “extremely limited production,” although it is not a limited edition and Berger & Argenti has not released approximate figures for annual production.

FATSO is priced more along the debut Classico line, with prices for its four sizes between $5.50 and $8.99. Berger & Argenti describe it as a big line with “ergonomically box-pressed ‘rectangulare'” shape. The four sizes are Dipper (4 x 62), Puddin (4 1/2 x 64), Bufflehead (5 1/2 x 68) and Butterball (6 x 70).
