Numerous retailers across the country received word that Ashton prices will increase on February 1. In a letter sent to retailers, Ashton Distributors, Inc. indicated it was raising prices for the first time since 2009.

A letter signed by Ashton President Robert Levin reads:

I am writing to inform you that there will be a price increase on Ashton cigars effective February 1st. In today’s economy, the costs of doing business are going up exponentially. We have not raised prices on Ashton large cigars since 2009.

However, this year our costs went up to the point that we can no longer absorb the increase in its entirety. As a result, any orders shipped as of February 1, 2013 including backorders, will ship at the new prices.

Please reference our new price list which is enclosed here for your convenience. At this time, there will be no price increase on Ashton Small Cigars, or any of our non-Ashton brands such as La Aroma de Cuba and San Cristobal.
