Effective today, you must now be 19 to use tobacco.

While most new American laws regarding tobacco and age center around raising the minimum age to purchase to 21, Singapore’s law affects possession, purchase and use. While it’s being raised to 19 for 2019, it’s the first of a three-step process.

In 2020, the age will increase to 20 and in 2021 it will increase age to 2021.

I am an editor and co-founder of halfwheel.com/Rueda Media, LLC. I previously co-founded and published TheCigarFeed, one of the two predecessors of halfwheel. I have written about the cigar industry for more than a decade, covering everything from product launches to regulation to M&A. In addition, I handle a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff here at halfwheel. I enjoy playing tennis, watching boxing, falling asleep to the Le Mans 24, wearing sweatshirts year-round and eating gyros. echte liebe.
