Today in Brussels, Belgium, Habanos S.A. showed off a new cigar that will be exclusive to retailers that are part of the La Casa del Habano program.

The cigar is called the La Gloria Cubana Glorias, a 6 1/8 (156mm) x 49 parejo vitola known as flechas, a new size for the Cuban cigar world. It will come in distinctive boxes that include the use of blue, a relative rarity in the world of Habanos.

While it’s not clear when the cigar will actually arrive in shops, it will be limited to La Casa del Habano (LCDH) retailers. There are more than 140 La Casa del Habano franchises around the world. The stores are independently-owned but licensed franchises from Habanos S.A. In order to gain an LCDH license, stores must meet certain qualifications including requirements for the type of humidor and lounge features a store has. LCDHs have access to specific LCDH-exclusive products from Habanos S.A. and oftentimes get priority for the first shipments of new cigars.

Somewhat confusingly, this is not the first La Gloria Cubana Glorias cigar. In 2016, a massive 7 1/10 x 54 double pirámides was released by the same name; that cigar was an Edición Regional for Germany.

Update (Oct. 12, 2022) — InterTabac, the distributor in Switzerland, announced today that the cigar will be in stores on October 18 and will be priced at CHF 740 ($741.50) for a box of 20 cigars.
