Members of the Tobacconists’ Association of America will have an exclusive size of My Father’s The Judge in the coming months, as the company has told halfwheel that it will be adding a 5 1/4 x 52 robusto vitola to the line’s vitolas.

The cigar will come wearing a gold ribbon foot band that reads TAA and will come in 23-count boxes, with 1,500 boxes being produced. Pricing has not yet been announced, with a company spokesperson telling halfwheel that will be confirmed at a later date. The line generally retails for between $11 and $13, before taxes.

Like the rest of the line, it uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over Nicaraguan corojo and criollo binders and Nicaraguan fillers.

This becomes the fifth size in the line, and the second size to be added this year, joining The Judge Corona Gorda, which measure 5 5/8 x 46 and is priced at $11.

  • My Father The Judge 5 x 60
  • My Father The Judge 6 x 56
  • My Father The Judge Toro Fino (6 x 52)
  • My Father The Judge Corona Gorda (5 5/8 x 46)
  • My Father The Judge TAA Exclusive 2020 (5 1/4 x 52)

The line debuted in November 2016 and is made at the My Father Cigars factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. It is slated to begin shipping shortly after the TAA’s meeting and trade show, which takes place March 22-26 at the Sheraton Los Cabos in Mexico.

My Father Cigars joins Tatuaje, La Aurora and Villiger as having announced exclusive cigars for the organization.

Update (March 25, 2020) — Pricing has been announced at $11 per cigar, before taxes. Shipping is slated to begin in April.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
