Next month, the Montecristo Espada brand will get its darkest offering to date..

It comes in the form of the Montecristo Espada Oscuro, a three-size line of cigars made entirely of Nicaraguan tobacco from the Plasencia family. Rafael Nodal, head of product capability for Tabacalera USA, selected the habano rosado oscuro wrapper, which was then blended with tobaccos by Nodal, Pedro Ventura of Tabacalera USA and the Plasencias.

  • Montecristo Espada Oscuro Ricasso (5 x 54)  — $13.27 (Box of 10, $132.70)
  • Montecristo Espada Oscuro Guarde (6 x 50) — $13.80 (Box of 10, $138)
  • Montecristo Espada Oscuro Quillon (7 x 56) — $14.60 (Box of 10, $146)

“We are extremely excited about the Montecristo Espada Oscuro,” said Eddy Guerra, senior brand manager of Altadis U.S.A., in a press release. “The success of the original Espada we felt, gave us mandate to push the envelope, to give our customers another great blend that can proudly sport the Montecristo Espada band.”
