While the Montecristo Espada Oscuro Magnum Especial isn’t new, you might start seeing it in many stores for the first time.

The cigar, which is a 6 x 60 version of the Espada Oscuro, was originally an exclusive for JR Cigar, the retail chain that is a sister company to Altadis U.S.A., the wholesale company that sells Montecristo and other brands to stores in the U.S.

Late last month, Altadis U.S.A. began offering other stores access to the Espada Oscuro Magnum Especial as it is no longer an exclusive to JR Cigar. The Montecristo Espada Oscuro Magnum Especial has an MSRP of $16.10 per cigar.

Altadis U.S.A. introduced the Espada Oscuro in June 2019. It is made by the Plasencia family in Nicaragua using entirely Nicaragua tobacco which is also grown by the Plasencia family.
