Mombacho Cigars S.A. and its says Mombacho.

That’s a noted thing given the company’s legal dispute with Casa Fernández over the trademark to the Mombacho name in the U.S. Mombacho Cigars S.A, a Nicaraguan company, sells its cigars under the Mombacho name around the world, but in the U.S. sold cigars under the name Tierra Volcan because Casa Fernández owns the U.S. trademark.

Late last year, Mombacho Cigars S.A. filed a complaint with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board to cancel Casa Fernández’s trademark.

Mombacho Liga Maestro New Packaging

Now the company is unveiling new packaging that will be used in all markets that features the Mombacho name.

In addition, the company will begin to unify the brand’s looks, Liga Maestro will receive black and gold 12-count boxes.

“The new identity will allow all of our products to look and feel like part of the same family” said Markus Raty, co-founder of Mombacho Cigars S.A.. “As we continue to grow and expand into new markets, this evolution of our branding will provide clarity and consistency for all of our customers and retail partners in various countries around the world.”

Raty declined to comment if there was any resolution to the trademark dispute.
