Mombacho Cigars S.A., makers of the eponymously named brand as well as Liga Maestro and Tierra Volcan, has announced a pair of new distribution deals that will soon have its cigars in humidors throughout Europe and Australia.

In Europe, the new deal covers Switzerland, Denmark and Sweden, with those three countries as well as Australia getting access to the five sizes in both the Tierra Volcan and Liga Maestro lines.

“We are proud to announce these new partnerships as we continue pursuing our vision to truly being a global company,” said Claudio Sgroi, president and master blender of Mombacho Cigars S.A.

The company is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary, and the return to Europe is a fitting one for the Liga Maestro brand, as it was created exclusively for the Italian market in 2013. The company has not announced which distributors they have formed partnerships with for this expansion, and an email seeking that information has not yet been returned.

Mombacho Cigars S.A. currently distributes to four continents now, with agreements in place in Nicaragua, where the company is based, as well as Canada and China. According to a press release from the company, they expect to begin shipping to the countries covered by these new agreements prior to the upcoming IPCPR Convention & Trade Show in July, where the company will release the Mombacho Magnifico, created in celebration of the company’s 10th anniversary and limited to just 5,000 cigars. A limited number of boxes of that cigar will be made available to these new distributors as well.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
