Crowned Heads’ newest line has only been on shelves for about a month, but the company already has plans to expand the line.

Next month, the company will ship the Mil Días Mareva Edición Limitada XX, a 5 1/8 x 42 version of the blend. Like other limited Crowned Heads cigars, the size has roots in a specific Cuban cigar.

The Mareva Edición Limitada XX is priced at $8.95 and limited to 1,000 boxes of 30 cigars.

“The seed for a mareva-sized cigar was planted for me last year when our national sales manager, Miguel Schoedel, gifted me a Romeo y Julieta Cedros de Luxe No. 3,” said Jon Huber, Co-founder of Crowned Heads, in a press release. “For my palate, that cigar exhibited so much depth and complexity with impeccable balance while in a smaller-cigar format; it still stands out in my sensory memory. We began work on a Mil Días Mareva even before we began shipping the first Mil Días boxes, as I knew in my gut that this blend would translate brilliantly in a Marvea vitola.”

Like the rest of the line, it uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Peru.

The line debuted in mid-September in four regular production vitolas.

  • Mil Días Edmundo (5 3/8 x 52) — $10 (Box of 20, $200)
  • Mil Días Corona Gorda (6 x 46) — $9.25 (Box of 20, $185)
  • Mil Días Sublime (6 x 54) — $11.50 (Box of 20, $230)
  • Mil Días Double Robusto (6 3/8 x 50) — $10.75 (Box of 20, $215)
  • Mil Días Mareva Edición Limitada XX (5 1/8 x 42) — $8.95 (Box of 30, $268.50)

Mil Días is Spanish for 1,000 days. It’s a reference that the project took roughly 1,000 days between the time Tabacalera Pichardo presented Crowned Heads with the original samples to when it was released.
