Michael Huff has announced that he has resigned as the vice-president of M Tabacos Inc., the parent company of the Dante brand.

It’s the latest in what has been a tumultuous month for Huff and business partner Mo Fakhro. At the end of February Cigar Connection in Arlington, Va. was closed. Fakhro owned the store, while Huff served as its general manager. Earlier tonight, Huff took to social media to announce his resignation. When reached by email, he did not provide any additional statement behind the Dante split.

Dante’s future remains murky. Huff has previously spoke to halfwheel about the possibility of a rebrand for the line, which was launched in mid-2013. Earlier this year it announced that the allotment of Purple Mofo, a limited release project, had been sold out. That cigar was due out in March, something that did not happen.

Huff did say he would still be involved with the business. He is currently employed at Old Virginia Tobacco Co.
