Micallef Adding Five Grande Bold Lines

Micallef Cigars is adding five new blends—a total of 22 cigars—all under a new banner of Grande Bold.

It’s a diverse line-up of cigars ranging from $5.50-11 with the average pricing of $8 per cigar.

All five are being made the Gómez Sanchez family in Nicaragua, Micallef’s manufacturing partner, and all five will begin shipping the week of the 2018 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, which begins July 13 in Las Vegas.

The Grande Bold Ligero uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra ligero wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and a mixture of Brazilian, Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers.

  • Micallef Grande Bold Ligero 554L (5 x 54)
  • Micallef Grande Bold Ligero 660L (6 x 60)

For the Grande Bolde Maduro, Micallef is using a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers.

As for the Grande Bold Mata Fina, it uses a Brazilian mata fina wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers.

The Micallef Grande Bold Sumatra is boxed-pressed using a Sumatran wrapper over a Honduran binder and Nicaraguan fillers. It’s the one line that’s described as “medium-full,” as opposed to “full” by the company.
