The Micallef A line will be getting a third vitola, though it’s technically called Micallef a.

It is a 4 x 46 petit corona and its smaller size helps to explain the use of a lowercase a instead of an uppercase A like the Churchill and gordo vitolas in the line. While the cigar will be new to shelves on humidors, it’s not entirely new. The line is named after Micallef’s Ambassadors program, a free membership program for consumers that includes a private Facebook group, discounts on Micallef swag and other benefits. The Micallef Ambassadors have been able to get the 4 x 46 version of the Micallef A, a line named after the Ambassadors, through the company’s sales staff, though now the cigar is being offered for sale.

The Micallef a will have an MSRP of $5.50 per cigar and is offered in boxes of 50 cigars.

Like the other two Micallef A vitolas, the Micallef a uses a Nicaraguan Sumatra wrapper over a Sumatran binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

“Building new releases with the Micallef Ambassadors ensures product demand is ready to go. We can share the kernel of an idea with our Ambassadors and shape it into our next release.” says Dan Thompson, President of Micallef Cigars. “Since they helped create it, they are already asking where they can buy it.”

The Micallef a will be on display at the 2022 PCA Convention & Trade Show, which takes place July 9-12 in Las Vegas. A shipping date has not been announced.
