Marrero Cigars has shipped the latest additions to its portfolio this week, three new vitolas in its Fuerte Box Pressed line and two in its Tico Pigtail line.

In the Marrero Cigars Fuerte Box Pressed line, a Gran Torpedo (6 1/2 x 54, $7.50), Gran Toro Box Press (6 1/2 x 54, $7.80) and Toro Grande (6 x 60, $7.90) have been added, all coming in 20-count boxes. They join the original Gran Robusto Box Press (5 1/2 x 54, $7.20). The full-bodied blend is made with an Ecuadorian habano oscuro wrapper, Dominican binder and a proprietary filler that uses Costa Rican tobacco.

Two new sizes have been added to the Marrero Cigars Tico Pigtail line, a lancero (7 1/2  40, $7) that comes in 24-count boxes and robusto (5 x 52, $6.30) that comes in 20-count boxes. They join the original toro (6 1/2 x 56, $7.40) and use a blend of an Ecuadorian habano wrapper, Indonesian binder and a proprietary filler blend highlighted by Costa Rican tobacco, which the company says results in a medium body cigar.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
