Maiden, N.C. Bans Tobacco Use on Town Property

With the summer here and parks being enjoyed more frequently, the town of Maiden, N.C. felt it time to place a total ban on the use of tobacco products in such areas.

On Tuesday, the town council voted unanimously in favor of a complete ban on smoking and the use of tobacco products, including e-cigarettes and vapor, in town parks. The ban went into effect immediately upon passage, with violators subject to removal from the park and a $50 fine.

Maiden is located just under 40 miles northwest of Charlotte and is home to approximately 3,500 residents.
