The Lotus Group has announced a handful of new cigar accessories for its Margaritaville line that will be making their industry debut at the upcoming Tobacco Plus Expo (TPE) trade show.

Borrowing from a design used in the LandShark collection, the Margaritaville line is adding the Latitudes triple torch lighter, a bottle shape with Margaritaville branding. It measures 3.125 x 1.5 x 1 inches, with a bottle cap design as well as an oversized fuel adjustment wheel on the base. The company says that it will work to elevations of up to 12,000 feet. It is priced at $19.99 and like the LandShark version, is offered in six-pack displays.

The Riptide is a side-squeeze, single flame torch lighter that features the “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere” lyric. The lighter features metal housing, a large fuel adjuster on the base, as well as a margarita-shaped fuel window on both sides of the lighter. It measure 2.375 x 1.25 x .5 inches, works at elevations up to 5,000 feet, and is available in blue and green, both priced at $14.99.

For golfers, the company is adding the Buckshot, a wind resistant single torch lighter that comes with a removable ball marker and slide-out divot tool. The flip top lid is also curved to provide a place to rest your cigar between shots. It works at elevations up to 5,000 feet and measures 2.75 x 1.25 x .75 inches. The Buckshot is available in both blue and green, with the “Five O’Clock Somewhere” branding adapted with a golf design. Each version has an MSRP of $19.99.

As for additional finishes to existing lines, the Musket Table Lighter is getting a new blue design featuring the “Five O’Clock Somewhere” golf logo featured on the Buckshot, becoming the sixth finish in the line. It is a triple flame torch lighter with a single action ignition and extra large fuel tank that comes in a metal body measuring 2.875 x 2.125 x .875 inches. The company says that it will work at elevations up to 11,000 feet. It is priced at $29.95.

The Chum Bucket, a two-rest melamine ashtray, is adding the two new options, both using the “Five O’Clock Somewhere” lyric. Each measures 9 x 6.25 x 1.375 inches, and like the rest of the line, is dishwasher safe.

Also borrowing from the LandShark offerings, the Margaritaville line is adding the Libations, an ashtray designed to look like a bottle cap but featuring the same branding found on the Latitudes lighter. It measures 8 inches across and 2 inches high, and is also made from dishwasher-safe melamine. It is priced at $19.99.

The Lotus Group acquired the rights to make cigar accessories for the Margaritaville and LandShark brands in June 2018 as part of a partnership with Lifestyle Brands, LLC that brings the iconic imagery and lyrics from singer, songwriter and best-selling author Jimmy Buffett to lighters, cutters, ashtrays, cigar cases and other accessories.

All of the new products are set to begin shipping immediately following the Tobacco Plus Expo 2020 trade show, which happens Jan. 29-31 in Las Vegas, Nev.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
