Thanksgiving is being celebrated with a new parks smoking ban in Lincoln, Calif.
The ordinance, which goes into effect today, was unanimously passed by the Lincoln City Council on Oct. 24, with all five members voting in favor of it. It applies to all parks within the city, as well as equestrian, hiking, biking, and similar trails.
It also prohibits the use of electronic cigarettes and vapor products. Violators will be subject to fines of up to $100 and exclusion from the park.
Lincoln is located 30 miles northeast of Sacramento and is home to approximately 47,000 residents.
