Limitless Cigar Co. has announced plans to launch in January 2022, with its first offering a cigar that includes two marijuana derivatives, CBG and CBN.

The company is was co-founded by Dan Nero, managing partner of DTN Associates, LLC, who said that the company’s mission is to forge “a cultural partnership between cigar sophistication and CBG-CBN wellness.”

Limitless Cigar Co. also announced the hiring of Todd Vance as its head of business development. “Todd is the natural choice for us, given his long history of building new cigar brands in the industry. He represents the integrity and work ethic that we want associated with our brand,” said Nero.

Vance brings a wealth of cigar industry to the position; he most recently worked with Stallone Cigars as the company’s North American vice president. His career includes stints with Padilla Cigars, White Hat Distribution, Cornelius & Anthony, AJ Fernandez and Esteban Carreras.

The company has not yet released details about its first release, other than that its website lists it as a 4 x 44 vitola. A press release issued by the company said that its cigars “are made of elite-level premium cigar materials from the finest tobacco farms on the planet,” and that it contains both CBG and CBN, both of which are cannabinoids, or compounds that are found in cannabis.

CBG, or cannabigerol, is similar to cannabidiol (CBD) but may have attributes that boost digestion as well as antibacterial qualities, which CBD does not have. It has also been referred to as the mother cannabinoid, as it is the one that all other cannabis compounds originate from. Cannabinol, or CBN, is more similar to THC than CBD, but does not have the same intoxicating properties. While it is a mild psychoactive, it is nonintoxicating. Early studies suggest its biggest benefit might be as a sleep aid, while also being an alternative to THC for appetite stimulation, but it could also have benefits for those with neurodegenerative conditions. Both are still undergoing studies to determine their full range of benefits.

“Limitless cigars represent the best and brightest in terms of tobacco and technology,” said Vance via a press release. “After over a thousand years of cigar-making, only within the past 20 years have cigars truly experienced an evolution in flavor, tobacco selections, sizes, and manufacturing styles. Limitless cigars represent the natural progression and the next wave of great cigars. Join us on our journey and embrace the evolution of cigars,” stated Vance.

Vance has not yet replied to an email seeking additional information about the cigars.

Update — Shortly after this article was published, Vance informed halfwheel that the company is planning to make an announcement in September that will include more details about the cigars.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
