Drew Estate has announced that the Liga Privada Único Serie Ratzilla will be made available to retailers who participate in the company’s Drew Diplomat program.
The Ratzilla first made in appearance at the 2011 IPCPR Trade Show & Convention before being offered for sale in a soft launch during the summer of 2012. At 6 1/4 x 46, it has been marketed as a longer version of the Dirty Rat. Both cigars use a stalk cut habano wrapper grown in the Connecticut River Valley over a Brazilian mata fina binder and Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers.
In 2012, 400 bundles were released nationally with Casa De Montecristo and Corona Cigar Co. receiving a combined 150 bundles. The remaining 250 bundles were divided between 87 retailers, while an additional 100 bundles were received for Drew Estate’s own use. Since then, the Ratzilla has been available at other events featuring Drew Estate executives, as well as to guests who attend Drew Estate’s Cigar Safari.
“We are excited that the Ratzilla is the first Drew Diplomat Retailer Holiday Seasonal Release,” said Jonathan Drew, co-founder of Drew Estate, in a press release.
Suggested retail price is $14 per cigar and it will be offered in 12-count bundles. A representative from Drew Estate did not indicate when the cigars would ship or how many would be available.
According to Drew Estate, retailers in the Drew Diplomat program are not only given access to special seasonal releases like this, but also given “priority allocations” on new cigar releases and limited editions.
