While the Leaf by Oscar brand won’t be adding any new products at next week’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, it will be making two of its limited edition products available to all retailers.

“Island” Jim Robinson, who owns and distributes the brand, told halfwheel today that he will be releasing the Lancero and Robusto vitolas to all accounts at the trade show. Previously, the Leaf by Oscar Robustos, which measure 5 x 50, were available only at the Leaf & Bean Strip, Robinson’s retail store in Pittsburgh, Pa., while the Lanceros were limited to approximately 50 accounts nationwide.

The Leaf by Oscar Lanceros, measuring 7 x 38, were announced in October 2015 as a release that was intended to be limited to approximately one account per state.

Both the Robusto and Lancero will be available in all four wrapper variations, which include a Honduran Connecticut, Nicaraguan Jalapa Maduro, Honduran Corojo and Ecuadorian Sumatra, while underneath each wrapper is a Honduran binder and filler. Both sizes will retail for $8.80 per cigar regardless of wrapper and will come packaged in 20-count bundles. The entire Leaf by Oscar line is made at Oscar Vallardares’ factory in Danlí, Honduras.

Robinson said that the Lanceros will be available to ship immediately after the show, while the Robustos will likely reach all accounts by September.

The Leaf by Oscar is also offered in a 6 x 50 Toro vitola as well as a 6 x 60.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
