La Flor Dominicana’s TAA 50th Anniversary blend is back, this time with a new wrapper option and a new size.

It’s called the La Flor Dominicana TAA 50 Segunda Edición, a pair of 6 1/2 x 54 box-pressed toros, that feature the same internal blend as last year’s TAA 50th. That means it uses a Dominican binder and a Dominican criollo 99 filler that is grown specifically for this blend.

It will be offered in two wrapper choices: Natural, with a Nicaraguan sun grown wrapper—the same as last year’s blend—and Maduro, a Mexican San Andrés leaf.

Both cigars will retail for $20 and are sold in boxes of 20. La Flor Dominicana isn’t disclosing production numbers for this release.

The TAA 50th debuted last year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA), a fairly small group of some of the country’s top tobacconists, about 80 retailers as well as 40 or so manufacturers. The association gathers annually to discuss issues facing the industry and retailers, as well as to have its annual trade show, a unique event that works on a group buying format in order to secure exclusive deals for these generally high-volume merchants.

It is set to take place March 17-21 at Casa de Campo in La Romana, Dominican Republic.

A.J. FernándezCLE, Crowned HeadsE.P. Carrillo, J.C. Newman, La Palina, My FatherNat Sherman and Tatuaje have also announced TAA 2019 releases.

The La Flor Dominicana TAA 50 Segunda Edición is expected to begin shipping in late fall.
