La Flor Dominicana Special Football Edition Returns

Last year, La Flor Dominicana introduced the Special Football Edition, a cigar that seemed clearly made for the Super Bowl, which was hosted in Glendale, Ariz.

This year, the Super Bowl will be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. and there’s another Special Football Edition, this time for retailers in California.

Like last year, the cigar features an Ecuadorian habano wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and Dominican fillers. There’s also a football on each cigar, made out of Connecticut and Ecuadorian habano tobaccos. While the components are of the same basic origins, Jon Carney, vp of sales for La Flor Dominicana, told halfwheel the blends are not the same.

This year’s size is a 5 5/8 x 54 perfecto.

Pricing is once again $12 per cigar and the Special Football Edition will come in boxes of 10.

Carney told halfwheel production numbers have not been finalized and the company is still taking orders. The cigars will ship in December ahead of Super Bowl 50, which will take place in February.
