For the first time in its history, La Aurora will be making an exclusive for retail members of the Tobacconists’ Association of America, Ltd. (TAA).
The La Aurora TAA Exclusivo is a 6 x 50 toro that uses an Ecuadorian HVA wrapper over a Dominican binder from the Cibao Valley. The filler consists of Pennsylvania broadleaf as well as more tobacco from the Cibao Valley.
“This TAA Exclusive is a testimony to the level of cooperation at all levels on our teams,” said Jason Wood, vp of Miami Cigar & Co., in a press release. “Everyone contributed to make a spectacular offering. We believe that this cigar will showcase the level of craftsmanship at La Aurora, and it is certainly fitting for the retailers attending TAA.”
La Aurora is distributed in the U.S. by Miami Cigar & Co.
Production is limited to 500 boxes of 10 cigars. Pricing is set at $12 per cigar. It is expected to ship in April.
The TAA is a fairly small group of some of the country’s top tobacconists, about 80 retailers as well as 40 or so manufacturers. The association gathers annually to discuss issues facing the industry and retailers, as well as to have its annual trade show, a unique event that works on a group buying format in order to secure exclusive deals for these generally high-volume merchants.
This year’s TAA Convention & Meeting takes place March 22-26 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
TAA members also have access to a variety of exclusive cigars made under the TAA Exclusive Series Program. Tatuaje and Villiger have also announced TAA exclusives for 2020.
