Kristoff Releases Corona Vitolas for Three Core Blends

Kristoff Cigars has begun shipping a new 5 x 44 corona vitola for its Connecticut, Original Maduro and Habano lines.

The new size is being offered as part of a new Kristoff Corona tray that includes 20 cigars in each of the three blends for a total presentation of 60 cigars. The tray itself with the 60 cigars sells for an MSRP of $345, while 20-count bundles of each of the three blends sells for $115, or $5.75 per cigar.

The Kristoff Original Maduro is one of the company’s first lines, using a Brazilian maduro wrapper, Dominican binder and a filler of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos. In addition to the new corona, it’s available in five sizes:

• Kristoff Original Maduro Matador (6 1/2 x 56)
• Kristoff Original Maduro Robusto (5 1/2 x 54)
• Kristoff Original Maduro Torpedo (6 1/4 x 52)
• Kristoff Original Maduro Churchill (7 x 50)
• Kristoff Original Maduro Lancero (7 1/2 x 40)

The Kristoff Connecticut and Kristoff Habano are new additions, debuting in the spring of 2016. The former uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Nicaraguan habano seed binder and what company owner Glen Case refers to as a “quad Dominican habano seed” filler, adding that it’s a mild to medium profile cigar with more flavor than strength. It is available in four additional sizes:

• Kristoff Connecticut Churchill (7 x 50)
• Kristoff Connecticut 660 (6 x 60)
• Kristoff Connecticut Robusto (5 1/2 x 54)
• Kristoff Connecticut Matador (6 1/2 x 56)

The Kristoff Habano is a medium strength cigar that uses a Brazilian habano wrapper and Brazilian sumatra binder on top of Nicaraguan and Dominican habano fillers, It debuted in three sizes:

• Kristoff Habano Churchill (7 x 50)
• Kristoff Habano Matador (6 1/2 x 56)
• Kristoff Habano Robusto (5 1/2 x 54)

The Kristoff Corona Tray began shipping on a widespread basis on March 19, with the first shipments going to members of the Tobacconists’ Association of America, who had the opportunity to purchase them in early March. The corona vitola is now available to order by all Kristoff retailers.

The cigars are produced at the Charles Fairmorn factory in the Dominican Republic.
