Kings Cigars has announced that at this week’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, it will unveil its newest line, Knights, which it describes as a premium cigar offered at an attractive price that doesn’t sacrifice quality.

Knights is being released in three wrapper varieties: Connecticut, Ecuadorian habano and Brazilian mata fina maduro, with the fillers coming from the Estelí and Jalapa regions of Nicaragua. It will be released in a number of different vitola options depending on the wrapper: Figurado (4 x 50, habano and Connecticut), Robusto (5 x 50, habano and Connecticut), Toro (6 x 62, all three blends), Coronita (6 x 42, Connecticut), Gordito (6 x 60, habano and Connecticut), Godfather (7 x 70, habano), and Lancero (Connecticut). The company also told halfwheel that it will have a box-pressed Churchill (7 x 50), Torpedo  (6 1/2 x 54), a box-pressed Gordito (6 x 60), a Double Corona (7 1/2 x 50), Petite Quadrado (4 x 64) and an unnamed 6 x 64 that will come in both round and box-pressed formats.

Anwar Mithavayani, president of Kings Cigars said via a press release that he feels Knights is a cigar worth twice its price, which ranges from $4-6. “Our team, headed by master blender Gregorio Vasquez, created an incredible cigar…a cigar with complex flavor notes…that will not only cater to the experienced cigar smoker’s refined palate, but appeal to those seeking a cigar at a price that can be smoked every day.”

Knights by Kings Cigars will be available in 10-cound humi-packs and 25-count bundles that will ship immediately, as well as 20-count boxes that will begin shipping in September.

Update (July 15, 2015) — Kings Cigars has change the name of the 4 x 65 vitola to “Petite Quadrado.”

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
