Kenneth P. Neumann is the new president of the International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association (IPCPR).

Neumann succeeds Craig Cass and began his two year term on Friday. He has been on the IPCPR executive board since 2009 and began serving on the organization’s board of directors in 2006, back when the organization was known as the Retail Tobacco Dealers of America (RTDA).

The IPCPR president position is an elected one and not a formal full-time position, like IPCPR ceo. Neumann is the co-owner of Neumann’s Cigars & More, which operates two locations in the northern Chicago suburbs. He and his wife, Julie, have operated retail cigar stores since 1998.

“My vision for IPCPR is to make sure our members understand that the association is more than a trade show,” said Neumann, in a press release. “We are on the front lines fighting for the rights of all members, big or small to continue to sell a legal product to adult consumers. IPCPR has a critical role to play in these challenging times. Leadership on the advocacy fronts, Federal, State and Local, is job one given the governmental challenges. It is a high-stakes air war in Washington, but we cannot take our eyes off the incessant tax and restrictions issues that are never ending in state capitals and municipalities.”
