For the third consecutive year, Crowned Heads will ship stores a smaller version of its Juárez line.

The Juárez Shots XX debuted in 2020. It’s a 4 x 50 petite robusto that also returned last year, known then as Juárez Shots 2021. Now, the cigar is back again, this time with the name of Juárez Shots LE 2022. Like the rest of the Juárez line, it uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

This year’s production will be 750 boxes of 50 cigars, up from 500 boxes in 2020 and 2021. Also increasing is the price, it will now have an MSRP of $5.95 per cigar.

“Since its debut in 2019, Juárez continues to be a top performer for us,” said Jon Huber, co-founder of Crowned Heads, in a press release. “Shots is always a fun way for us to kick off the year, and the need for more compact smokes during the cold winter months makes for perfect timing as well.”

Júarez, the line, is inspired by Jonny Cash’s performance of “Cocaine Blues.” The various vitola names are all references to parts of the song and the story it tells. The line is made at Tabacalera Pichardo in Estelí, Nicaragua.

Crowned Heads says the Juárez Shots LE 2022 will begin shipping next month.
