Cross another one of Habanos S.A.’s 2014 Edición Regionals off the yet-to-arrive list, as the La Casa del Habano in Lisbon announced yesterday that the Juan López Chiado 1864 has arrived.

The cigar is a 4 x 50 petit robusto, with 5,000 boxes of ten cigars produced and each one costing €110, or about $123.50.

With the release of the Juan López Chiado 1864, three cigars from 2014’s list are still awaiting release: the La Gloria Cubana Paraiso, the Ramón Allones 898 for Germany and Ramón Allones Sur for Lebanon. Four Edición Regionals were released between March and April this year. It’s the second Juan López to be released as part of 2014’s Edición Regional program, as the Don Juan, a 5 3/10 x 52 Edmundo was released to the Benelux region in late March.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
