JRE Tobacco Co.’s Aladino brand will be getting a new line of cigars this month, as the company has announced the Aladino Classic, a Honduran puro made with tobacco grown by the company.

The blend will reportedly feature a habano seed wrapper and filler, while the binder will be a corojo seed. It is made at Fábrica de Puros Aladino at Las Lomas Jamastran in Honduras and will be offered in four sizes:

  • Aladino Classic Corona Classic (5 x 44) — $7 (Box of 20, $140)
  • Aladino Classic Robusto (5 x 50) — $9 (Box of 20, $180)
  • Aladino Classic Toro (6 x 50) — $10 (Box of 20, $200)
  • Aladino Classic Gordo (6 1/2 x 60) — $11 (Box of 20, $220)

The first batch of cigars will be released in mid-May to a small group of retailers who have visited the company’s farms and facilities. It will then be made available to other retailers at the PCA Convention & Trade Show in July, with those stores receiving their orders shortly after the show closes.

The company announced the Aladino Classic via Cigar Aficionado, but has not yet responded to an email seeking additional information as well as to confirm the accuracy of that report.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
