Justo Eiroa heard horror stories but never thought it would happen to him.

Over the weekend, it happened to him. JRE Tobacco Co. was the victim of a warehouse burglary this weekend. Eiroa told halfwheel that thieves broke in through the roof and emptied the company’s Miami warehouse of all of its products.

“This has taken an emotional toll on us as 2020 continues to hurt all of us,” said Eiroa, president of JRE, in a statement was sent to his sales representatives.

JRE is stressing retailers to not buy cigars through any sources other than its sales representatives or offices.

I am an editor and co-founder of halfwheel.com/Rueda Media, LLC. I previously co-founded and published TheCigarFeed, one of the two predecessors of halfwheel. I have written about the cigar industry for more than a decade, covering everything from product launches to regulation to M&A. In addition, I handle a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff here at halfwheel. I enjoy playing tennis, watching boxing, falling asleep to the Le Mans 24, wearing sweatshirts year-round and eating gyros. echte liebe.
