Joya de Nicaragua Celebrates 50th Anniversary With Cinco Décadas
Joya de Nicaragua is 50-years-old and now it has a cigar fitting for the occasion.
The Joya de Nicaragua Cinco Décadas, Spanish for five decades, pays tribute to Nicaragua’s oldest cigar factory. It will be offered in two vitolas—Diadema (6 x 54, $19.99) and El General (7 x 50, $18.99)—the same two vitolas that were first rolled at the factory in 1968.
“Cinco Decadas is a Nicaraguan cigar of unparalleled elegance,” said Dr. Alejandro Martínez Cuenca, the company’s owner and chairman, in a press release. “This cigar is intended to celebrate a special moment in our company’s history and offer an opportunity to pause, reflect, give thanks – and look to the future. It is our most memorable milestone yet and the most memorable of celebrations always require that you rise to the occasion. That’s what Cinco Decadas represents. We want consumers to know that in Cinco Decadas, they will find a cigar so premium that the fact that there’s one in the humidor, will be enough to celebrate.”
The company is not disclosing the blend.
Production is limited to 5,000 boxes for 2018, with 3,000 boxes earmarked for the American market, where Joya de Nicaragua is distributed by Drew Estate.
It will debut at the 2018 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show next week and begin shipping to Drew Diplomat Retailers later this month.
