John J. Miller Promoted to President & CEO of Swisher


John J. Miller has been promoted to the roles of president and ceo of Swisher. Previously, Miller has been serving in the role of president of Swisher since 2017. His predecessor—Peter Ghiloni, who retired in 2018—held both titles until his retirement was announced in 2017.

In addition to its eponymous brand of machine-made cigars—Swisher Sweets—the company also owns Drew Estate.


Miller joined Swisher in 2012 after working for U.S. Tobacco. He served as the company’s svp of sales and marketing until 2018 when he was promoted following Ghiloni’s retirement. In addition to his role at Swisher, Miller is also the current chairman of the Cigar Association of America.

A press release from the company says that under Miller’s leadership, Swisher has doubled the size of its field sales force and tripled the size of its national accounts media.

Swisher is owned by the Ziegler family.
