In October, a robusto vitola will be joining the JFR Lunatic Torch line, as AGANORSA Leaf has announced plans to release Imagine, a 5 1/2 x 50 vitola.

Like the rest of the line, the Imagine uses a Nicaragua corojo 99 wrapper from Jalapa, dual binders from Nicaragua’s Estelí & Jalapa regions, and fillers from Estelí and Jalapa. It also uses an uncovered foot, or what the company calls a brush foot, which gives the person smoking the cigar the flavor of the binder and filler for half an inch before the wrapper joins the profile.

“The Lunatic Torch series has been a massively successful brand for us,” said Terence Reilly, vp of sales and marketing for AGANORSA Leaf, via a press release. “We have had a lot of requests to add a robusto to the line from both our retailers and sales team: we listened. We are excited to see the reaction in the market to one of the most popular sizes of this unique expression of our leaf.”

It becomes the fourth size in the line:

  • JFR Lunatic Torch Imagine (5 1/2 x 50)
  • JFR Lunatic Torch Visionary (6 1/2 x 52)
  • JFR Lunatic Torch Dreamlands (6 1/2 x 60)
  • JFR Lunatic Torch Mad Folk (4 3/4 x 70)

The JFR Lunatic Torch Imagine has an MSRP of $9.50 and will be offered in 10-count boxes. Production is handled by the Tabacos Valle de Jalapa S.A. factory.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
