Kralot, a limit edition released in 2018 by Jas Sum Kral, has gotten a second release. This time, it’s an exclusive to Black Lion Luxuries Club.
Yesterday, the 2022 edition of Kralot went on sale. Like the 2018 release, it’s a 7 x 50 Churchill that uses Nicaraguan binders—from Ometepe and Somoto—and Nicaraguan fillers from Condega, Estelí and Jalapa. However, the new version uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper instead of Mexican San Andrés tobacco. The Kralot is made at Tabacalera de Aragon S.A.
A total of 2,100 cigars were made, 600 will be sent to Black Lion Luxuries’ monthly subscription service, another 150 bundles of 10 cigars were made as well. The cigars have an MSRP of $14.99 per cigar.
“In looking for a few companies to bring our vision of boutique cigars exclusively for Black Lion Luxuries in 2022, we were fortunate to partner with Riste and Jas Sum Kral (JSK),” said James Garcia of Black Lion Luxuries, in a press release. “It’s no secret that the past few years have been tough on the production and fulfillment of cigars, but JSK was able to make us a priority, fitting us into their production schedule and securing the tobacco to make this cigar a success, while not rushing the final product.
Riste Riatevski of Jas Sum Kral told halfwheel that Kralot 2022 will be exclusive to Black Lion Luxuries, though he left open the door for a 2023 release that could be sold to other retailers.
Black Lion Luxuries Club is an online retail business from Harrisburg Beer N Cigar in Pennsylvania.
Kralot, spelled кралот, means “king” in Macedonian.
