Island Lifestyle Importers has announced the addition of the Island Club cigar line to its portfolio, which the company says will deliver a mild to medium profile with complexity, all at a wallet-friendly price.
The new line uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler. While the company acknowledges that Connecticut-seed wrappers can have grassy and bitter notes, it believes its leaf is different. “These Island Club cigars have notable flavors of light spice, leather and tea,” said Ryan Frailing, vice president of Island Lifestyle, via a press release. He added that the while the profile makes it a cigar fitting of a celebration, the price point also makes it perfect to enjoy on an every day basis while relaxing, working in the yard, hunting or fishing. “From a value proposition they are competing with cigars that are more than twice the price. We believe they are the perfect addition to our lineup of cigars,” he added.
The Island Club is being offered in five sizes, each offered in bundles of 20 cigars:
- Island Club Churchill (7 x 52) — $4.75
- Island Club Toro (6 x 52) — $4.50
- Island Club Torpedo (6 1/4 x 52) — $4.50
- Island Club Robusto (5 x 52) — $4.25
- Island Club Corona Gorda (5 7/8 x 46 — $3.95
The cigars are made at an undisclosed factory in Estelí, Nicaragua by a team of nine pairs of bunchers and rollers.
The Island Club will be on display at the upcoming IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, which happens in Las Vegas, Nev. from July 13 – 17. Island Lifestyle Importers offers several lines of cigars under the Island Lifestyle name, and is the exclusive manufacturer and distributor of Tommy Bahama-branded cigar accessories.
