The International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association (IPCPR) is a trade organization, but today it has launched a program largely aimed at consumers.

It’s cigaraction.org, a new website aimed at promoting interaction by cigar retailers, as well as consumers. The website currently has three functions: an easy way for people to contact their local representatives, a toolbox that contains resources for posting cigar-friendly messages on social media and a way to sign up for regular emails.

The efforts are centered around IPCPR’s current priority, getting an exemption for premium cigars added to the upcoming spending bill.

I am an editor and co-founder of halfwheel.com/Rueda Media, LLC. I previously co-founded and published TheCigarFeed, one of the two predecessors of halfwheel. I have written about the cigar industry for more than a decade, covering everything from product launches to regulation to M&A. In addition, I handle a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff here at halfwheel. I enjoy playing tennis, watching boxing, falling asleep to the Le Mans 24, wearing sweatshirts year-round and eating gyros. echte liebe.
