Lisa Cox has been named the senior director of trade shows and events for the International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailer’s Association (IPCPR). In her new role, Cox will oversee the industry’s most important trade show, the annual IPCPR Convention & Trade Show.

Cox most recently served as the vp of events for the National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions. A press release says the organization’s trade show revenue grew 50 percent over her tenure.

“Lisa’s impressive background in trade show and event management, as well as her track record of crafting new strategies around attendee experiences and working to maximize the value to both exhibitor and attendee, is going to be a great asset to IPCPR as we look to reimagine our annual event,” said Scott Pearce, executive director for IPCPR, in a press release.

In addition, the IPCPR notes that Cox is fluent in Spanish, something that will likely be important given her role will be interacting with cigar companies.

She replaces Dawn Conger who left the organization at the end of July following the 2018 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show.

The 2019 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show will take place June 29-July 2.
