The IPCPR Convention & Trade Show is heading back to the Sands Expo, located in between the Venetian and Palazzo in Las Vegas, Nev.

It will mark a homecoming for the cigar industry’s largest trade show, which had often been held in Las Vegas and exclusively at the Sands. That changed last year when the trade show’s contract was canceled by the Sands and the International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association (IPCPR) moved its trade show to the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The 2019 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show will take place June 29-July 2, while the 2020 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show will take place June 27-30, 2020.

A move to Sands will be welcome to just about everyone involved.

Because of the nature of the Sands business model, i.e. an integrated convention center in the world’s second-largest hotel, prices for various trade show functions will likely be cheaper than the Las Vegas Convention Center, which is not affiliated with a hotel. That hotel is generally more well-liked then hotels near the Las Vegas Convention Center and the general location of the Sands makes it easier to visit other hotels on the Las Vegas Strip.

The Palazzo is currently undergoing a $15 million renovation of its gaming floor, which included the removal of the Laguna Champagne Bar, which was a popular late night hang out for the cigar industry.
