My What’s In My Bag posts haven’t really changed much over the years, with minor equipment changes here or there. Unsurprisingly, this year is the more of the same, with the biggest shift being the change from my Xikar MTX scissors to a Xikar XO cutter. I’ve gone from using the MTX scissors almost exclusively, to using the XO cutter for almost all of my cigar cutting needs.

Other changes are: I just picked up a pack of generic reporter notebooks from the store instead of specifically getting the Field Notes brand, I’m carrying a torch lighter instead of a soft flame and lastly I forgot to get any snacks to put in my backpack for when I’m out and about. I think the lack of snacks will be the biggest mistake I’ve made this year with my bag contents!

I have been smoking cigars since 2005 and reviewing them as a hobby since 2010. Initially, I started out small with a 50-count humidor and only smoking one or two cigars a month. Not knowing anybody else that smoked cigars, it was only an occasional hobby that I took part in. In March of 2010, I joined Nublive and Cigar Asylum, connecting me with many people who also shared an interest in cigars. Reading what they had to say about brands I had never heard of, I quickly immersed myself in the boutique brands of the industry and it was then that cigars transformed from a hobby into a passion.
