Selected Tobacco S.A. was back again with the same booth, which is great because it’s a near museum-like presentation of their beautiful packaging and products.

I wish I could reach the mirrored ATABEY and BYRON signage and wipe the finger prints off. Having said that, booths with the same presence and prestigious look of Selected Tobacco S.A. are few and far between. Another nice thing about its booth and the cases though, is that sticky-fingered show attendees can’t get to their product, so each display remains pristine and whole from the opening of Day 1 to the end of Day 4. Unable to cover the booth until the final day, this meant I was still able to get great pictures of their product and with a quiet show floor, there were only a couple of retailers I had to work around.

Atabey Tubes

Yes, tubes not tubos. I know that’s somewhat odd sounding since most everybody else calls them tubos, but not only is that what they said every time it was mentioned, but it’s what is listed on the product sheet as well. Regardless of what moniker they have, the tubes are quite beautiful looking and are great additions to their packaging options. They will come in packs of three for only three of the sizes and will have a slight premium added to the usual box price.

  • Atabey Idolos Tubes (4 x 55) — $23 (Packs of 3, $69)
  • Atabey Misticos Tubes (6 x 56) — $36 (Packs of 3, $108)
  • Atabey Sabios Tubes (5 1/4 x 52) — $28 (Packs of 3, $84)

I have been smoking cigars since 2005 and reviewing them as a hobby since 2010. Initially, I started out small with a 50-count humidor and only smoking one or two cigars a month. Not knowing anybody else that smoked cigars, it was only an occasional hobby that I took part in. In March of 2010, I joined Nublive and Cigar Asylum, connecting me with many people who also shared an interest in cigars. Reading what they had to say about brands I had never heard of, I quickly immersed myself in the boutique brands of the industry and it was then that cigars transformed from a hobby into a passion.
