Few booths offer the surprises quite like S.T.Dupont. The French accessories company is known to bring extremely high-end one-off creations to the trade show each year. Most of what the company shows off never make it to 99.99 percent of stores, but that doesn’t make it any less impressive. It’s a functional museum of sorts, but every once in a while I’ll stumble into someone that owns one of the higher-end Dupont models and I understand why they love it.

S.T.Dupont is located in the corner of the larger Davidoff of Geneva USA booth with pieces displayed in cases along the sides and then the one flagship item, a lighter that uses water, roped off in the middle.

S.T.Dupont Apollo

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of man landing on the moon, S.T.Dupont has a new collection. The star is the lighter set that includes a custom Line 2 lighter with diamonds mounted onto an obsidian base that is designed to look like the spacecraft. Inside is a lunar meteorite.

The full set is limited to eight pieces and priced at $39,480, though 288 numbered lighters are being sold by themselves, priced at $9,445.

There’s also a second piece that is made of bronze with hand patina. The lighting doesn’t really do this justice. Thee lighter is made of bronze and has pink gold finishes. The set is $38,070 and the lighter is priced at $7,230.

S.T.Dupont Atlas

The Greek titan Atlas is the center of this year’s S.T.Dupont Haute Creation collection. It is being produced in collaboration with 2SaintS, a longtime S.T.Dupont partner. Like many other flagship collections, it’s offered at three levels.

At the low end, which is still $9,445 for a lighter, is the Atlas Prestige Line 2. It is bronze with rhodium finishes, limited to 288 pieces.

The Exclusive version is also bronze and rhodium, though it’s a much larger and intricate design. It also comes with a bronze base. It’s limited to 88 pieces.

The Ultra Exclusive is limited to eight pieces and comes with a much more intricate base designed to mimic the Farnese Atlas, the famous statue of Atlas kneeling while holding the world. It is made of bronze and uses a marble base. It’s limited to eight pieces.

  • S.T.Dupont Atlas Prestige — $9,445
  • S.T.Dupont Atlas Exclusive — $18,740
  • S.T.Dupont Atlas Ultra Exclusive — $38,070

S.T.Dupont Complication Lighter 2019

There are new versions of the Complication lighter, now using carbon fiber and other materials.

Like the original Complication lighter, there is both a soft flame and torch mechanism and the lighter has a lock.

If you are wondering what the inside of the lighter looks like.

$54,450

S.T.Dupont Crazy Diamonds

This palladium-finished Line 2 lighter uses a technique called clou de Paris, a jewelry style that uses small triangles to create the look of a diamond. It looks better in person, though this is admittedly not my favorite design.

  • S.T.Dupont Line 2 Crazy Diamond — $1,203

S.T.Dupont Dual Cutters

There are two new cutter designs from S.T.Dupont, both of which include more than just a traditional double guillotine cutter. One has a double guillotine cutter and a v-cut, while the other is a double guillotine cutter than can fold into a cigar stand. Both are priced at $210.

S.T.Dupont Hydrolighter

Yes, hydrolighter.

S.T.Dupont worked with scientists to create the Hydrolighter. It uses the process of electrolysis. You pass electricity through saltwater and it creates oxyhydrogen, a mixture of oxygen and hydrogen, which is flammable. Unfortunately, the lighter wasn’t working during the show.

It’s priced at $70,830.

S.T.Dupont King & Queen Frog

Based on The Frog Prince, this new lighter celebrates the idea of transformation. S.T.Dupont worked with Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio for this creation, which is highlighted by a frog made from nephrite jade capped off rubies in the crown and cape.

The base is made from septarian, amethyst and quartz with gold plating. It is limited to eight pieces.

There will inevitably be four different models as part of the Perfect Ping collection. The Line 2 and Line 2 Small were on display, but there’s also a Line 2 Slim and Le Grand S.T.Dupont planned.
