IPCPR 2019: Los Caidos

Null

Los Caidos is a brand that is looking to give back to police and firefighter charities and I dropped by their booth to learn more about the brand and its cause.

Situated on a corner next to a couple of the larger companies, owner Steve Zengel was quite busy chatting with retailers and friends in the industry, but he was happy to take a moment to tell me about the Los Caidos brand. Translated The Fallen, Los Caidos was the answer to the question of how Zengel could help families of fallen police officers and firefighters. The idea is that $1 of each cigar sold will go to a non-profit charity called Life of a Ridetime, a charity founded by Zengel.

Los Caidos Blue 22-Count Box

Previously only available through JR Cigars and its associated retailers, Los Caidos has been sold in boxes of 11 with either a blue theme to support police officers or a red theme to support firefighters. At the trade show, Los Caidos is getting a wider release and a 22-count retailer display box that has 11 of the blue themed cigars and 11 of the red-themed cigars. Also available are 49-count refill boxes.

About the author

I have been smoking cigars since 2005 and reviewing them as a hobby since 2010. Initially I started out small with a 50-count humidor and only smoking one or two cigars a month. Not knowing anybody else that smoked cigars, it was only an occasional hobby that I took part in. In March of 2010 I joined Nublive and Cigar Asylum, connecting me with many people who also shared an interest in cigars. Reading what they had to say about brands I had never heard of, I quickly immersed myself in the boutique brands of the industry and it was then that cigars transformed from a hobby into a passion. Besides my cigar hobby and job in the IT industry, my wife and I love traveling, trying new restaurants and relaxing at home with our two dogs.
