IPCPR 2019: HVC Cigars

Null

HVC is two for two. The company has two new releases at IPCPR 2019, both of which I really want to try. Neither is entirely new—both have debuted at a single store before—but it doesn’t make me want to try either any less.

The HVC booth is pretty to the point. One cabinet contains the company’s existing lines while another has all of the new products. Then there are a couple of tables and that’s basically it. In a world of overly elaborate and expensive booths, I think this is how I would exhibit if I were in the business of selling cigars.

HVC La Rosa 520 Maduro

The concept of an HVC La Rosa 520 Maduro is not new. Last year, SmallBatchCigar.com got a Mexican San Andrés-wrapped version of La Rosa 520, but Reinier Lorenzo told me this version is slightly different.

  • Wrapper: Mexico (San Andrés)
  • Binder: Nicaragua
  • Filler: Nicaragua
  • HVC La Rosa 520 Maduro Exquisitos (5 3/4 x 46) — $9 (Box of 20, $180)
  • HVC La Rosa 520 Maduro Mágicos (5 1/2 x 54) — $12 (Box of 20, $240)

Production: 1,000 Boxes of 20 Cigars (20,000 Total Cigars)

Release Date: July 2019

HVC Serie A

The Serie A got a soft launch in a different size in Hawaii earlier this year. Now it’s time for the two production sizes to head to market, or almost time.

  • Wrapper: Nicaragua (Corojo 99)
  • Binder: Nicaragua
  • Filler: Nicaragua
  • HVC Serie A Cañonazos (5 1/2 x 54) — $9.60 (Box of 10, $96)
  • HVC Serie A Perlas (5 5/8 x 46) — $8.50 (Box of 10, $85)

Production: Regular Production

Release Date: August 2019

HVC First Selection Broadleaf

Last year’s limited edition is now a regular production offering. All of the important details—sizes, pricing, blend, factory—remain the same.

  • Wrapper: Nicaragua (Corojo 99)
  • Binder: Nicaragua
  • Filler: Nicaragua

Production: Regular Production

Release Date: September 2018
