The Colibri booth returns in the booth layout used for the past several years, with large images of the new products on the wall panels, prominent display cases with new products on the main aisle, and then retail-style display cases showing off both the new products as well as the company’s existing products in both the Colibri and Firebird brands.
Of note among the product offerings this year was the celebration of the company’s 90th anniversary, as well as the further development and implementation of Colibri’s Quasar design, the pyramid-style that has graced humidors, ashtrays and more. Additionally, there were no new cigar-oriented products added to the Firebird brand, the company’s more value-oriented line.
If you were looking for a cutter that’s as much optical illusion as it is cigar accessory, the Colibri Quasar Cut should fit the bill thanks to what the company calls an “open-surface” design. The design team at Colibri hollowed out the metal sides that include each blade, leaving just the base and then the blade itself, which in turn means that only the blade goes through the cigar.
Design-wise, it features the hobnail pattern originally found on the vintage 1960s Colibri Moletric lighter that has inspired the Quasar line of humidor, ashtrays and a tabletop cutter, and is being offered in eight colors: matte black, matte silver, matte charcoal, matte red, blue, neon green, black/polished chrome and black/polished rose.

In the running for most innovative accessory is the Quasar Punch, which contains three different punch cutter blades—7mm, 9mm and 12mm—all packed into one rectangular shape that expands on the company’s existing Quasar line. Each of the blades coincides with a pyramid on the front of the cutter, while a fourth pyramid functions on a handle. Once the fourth pyramid is opened, the blades appear from the body of the cutter. Pushing the pyramid back down, the blades retract and the cigar cap is ejected from the inside of the blades. It’s offered in four colors—matte black, metallic silver, metallic charcoal and matte red.

The popular double guillotine S-Cut gets an update by way of serrated blades, which the company says were developed to find the best tip-size that would give a precise cut without forfeiting the longevity and strength of the fine serrations. It can handle a cigar with a ring gauge up to a 66 and is available in four finishes, black, polished chrome and black, polished rose and black, and gunmetal.
MSRP: $49

Launch Date: July 2018
Colibri is one of many companies celebrating anniversaries this year, marking 90 years since its founding in London to its current location in New York City with a new limited edition set that includes the company’s signature V-Cut cutter and Rally lighter, both sporting a design that pays tribute to the past and present.
MSRP: V-Cut ($59); Rally, ($69), Set ($128)

Colibri Astoria – New Quasar Finishes
The Colibri Astoria is one of Colibri’s most iconic lighters, a triple flame that incorporates a single-blade cigar cutter on the back. This year, the company has added four new finishes to the options, each of which incorporates the texture and look of the Quasar portfolio, essentially a series of small pyramids on the sides of the lighter. It’s being offered in black, black and red, gunmetal, and black and chrome, each priced at $150 and shipping in October.
With the new Quasar version, the company is beginning the official phase-out of the existing Astoria finishes, so if you want one, you’d better scoop them up before they are gone.
Colibri Daytona & Colibri Cut — Camo
The Colibri Daytona, a single flame torch lighter, and the Colibri Cut, a dual-blade butterfly style cutter, are getting four new camouflage colorways, charcoal, red, orange and blue. The Cut is priced at $49, while the Daytona is $59.
Colibri Falcon — New Colors
A quartet of new colors—blue, charcoal, black and red—are being added to the Colibri Falcon, an angled single flame torch lighter priced at $45.
