Brizard & Co certainly isn’t a new company – according to their site one that’s been around for over a decade. In fact, looking back at the three previous IPCPR apps on my phone, this isn’t even their first time as an exhibitor at the show.

What is a first however, is my experience going into the booth and looking at all the beautiful luxury cigar accessories they had on display. Each of their products come in a variety of finishes, using a range of exotic leathers and woods. They actually had multiple new products at the show, though some were made for specific companies—Elie Bleu, Padrón, Rocky Patel and S.T.Dupont—and only on display at their respective booths.

Double Guillotine Cutter

Previously the company has made a double guillotine cutter, however this year they updated the design slightly, cutting the material straight across at the finger holes instead of curving it partially around. All options come with a leather pouch.

Venezia Premium Lighter

Also new this year is the Venezia Premium lighter with a fountain flame (pictured in Carpathian Burl above, center). Unfortunately, I didn’t get a photo or video of the flame, but it looks like multiple smaller jet flames feeding into the single, main flame. Brizard’s site describes it as a “the shape of a Grecian fountain or a ‘Fleur de Lys'” – which they say helps the lighter’s wind resistance.

I have been smoking cigars since 2005 and reviewing them as a hobby since 2010. Initially, I started out small with a 50-count humidor and only smoking one or two cigars a month. Not knowing anybody else that smoked cigars, it was only an occasional hobby that I took part in. In March of 2010, I joined Nublive and Cigar Asylum, connecting me with many people who also shared an interest in cigars. Reading what they had to say about brands I had never heard of, I quickly immersed myself in the boutique brands of the industry and it was then that cigars transformed from a hobby into a passion.
