It’s the 21st anniversary of Fuente Fuente OpusX, but as has become tradition with Fuente, it’s time to celebrate the 20th anniversary. That was the story, but as is also the case with Fuente, many details simply were not disclosed something that results in greater anticipation, but also a bit of frustration for those actually in attendance.
The booth was much the same, although quieter with the absence of Carlos Fuente Sr. and Jr.
Casa Cuba Divine Inspiration
A completely new blend, one dictated by Carlos Fuente Sr. to the factory over the phone. It’s part of the company’s traditional IPCPR specials portfolio meaning retailers will get it based off of the amount of product they ordered at the show and it’s otherwise not available for purchase individually. It will ship later in the year and is described as very limited.
Also joining it in the show special catalog: Don Carlos Personal Reserve, Don Carlos Eye of the Shark, Short Story Maduro and the Fuente Fuente OpusX Rosado Oscuro.
Fuente Fuente OpusX 20 Years Celebration
This is the star of the show. Still with very little details. There are four sizes, packed in boxes of 20, priced between $17.75-20 per cigar. They will ship later in the year and are not part of the show specials deal, meaning they will be divided up by the company, though it is described as very limited.
Fuente Ashtrays
New ashtrays by Manny Iriarte. There are a variety of colors including blue to match the aforementioned 20 Years Celebration and yellow for the FFOX Rosado Oscuro Oro.
Toast Across America 2016
The annual two-packs which benefit the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation are back. This time the Diamond Crown Black Diamond joins the fold alongside a FFOX. I still never got a confirmed size, but these looked like an Untold Story, maybe a bit shorter.
