Toraño Family Cigar Co. announced its new releases earlier this month–a new line, a new size for a line, a sampler and a revamped look for the company’s value-oriented line.

Charlie Toraño now has his own cigar line, the Charlie Toraño Captiva — a four vitola line with a robusto (5 x 52), toro (6 x 50), churchill (7 x 47) and BFC (6 x 60). Pricing is set between $7.95 and $8.95, with shipping scheduled for September.

The Carlos Toraño Exodus 1959 is getting a new big vitola, as a 7 x 70 version was released. It’s $9 per cigar and should be on its way to retail in the near future.

Fans of Toraño and big ring gauges will want to check out the BFC Collection sampler, featuring five of the company’s blends in the 6 x 60 size. Included in the BFC Collection is the Vault A-008, Vault D-042, Exodus 1959 50 Years, Master by Carlos Toraño and Casa Toraño. Pricing is set at $39.95 for the sampler.

The Brick, a value-based cigar, got a new look at the show, coming in sizable 100-count chests and in a pair of sizes: a 7 x 56 Churchill and the 6 x 60 BFC, both of which are box-pressed. Pricing on each is $4.95 per cigar.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
